We welcome you to our interactive, hands on ecological construction workshop.
Our workshops are divided into two parts. First a theoretical part of building with natural materials found in the area, followed by a practical experience in dealing with wood construction, cob and lime plastering, straw filling and other organic methods.
Learning ecological building techniques will not only be a step towards a more natural lifestyle, but it will also give the confidence to be able to fix, renovate and build your own beautiful, natural and affordable home, getting you one step closer to a self-sufficient life. Whether you are starting your own project or renovating your place in a natural way, you can enjoy your holiday with us in the midst of nature, and learn about natural building. While the days will be spent learning and practicing, the evenings will be spent sharing knowledge and experiences as well as playing music around the campfire in a multicultural group setting.
During our Natural Building Workshops we will teach you and you can experience how to work with the following:
–Preparing wood frames
-Mixing cob with straw for insulation
-Clay and lime plaster basics
-Stomping and sculpting cob
-Mixing and applying plaster
-Mixing and using lime wash
-Making clay paint
– See some examples of natural constructions
-Ideas for recycling and including recycled materials in your construction (such as old glass bottles)
We will discuss and study several concepts including:
- how to start your own project or renovate your place in a natural and ecological way
- the relevance of sustainability in construction
- relying mainly on local materials
- environmental impacts of building
- the wide range of natural materials that you can use

All our works shops are conducted in English with some flexibility in other languages. (German, Spanish, Romanian)
There will be enough free time to enjoy trips around the Organic Art Ranch, the beautiful Transylvanian mountains and the famous local National Preserve, Parcul National Apuseni, and the Bride’s Veil waterfall.

You can register now for the workshop to secure your place. 10% off for couples. Early bird registration 10% if you register by the 25th of April. Once we receive the registration form and a deposit you will receive a confirmation email from us with directions to the farm.
